Select Words Dialog Box
Prerequisite to opening: Cursor is in the Search Entry box of a Search Tab for any searchable Text, with search set to Words.
To open the Select Words dialog box do one of the following:
- In the Search Entry box, right-click and choose Enter>Word from the shortcut menu
Also known as a contextual menu, acessed by right-clicking (or pressing Ctrl+Click, Mac only) over a screen element. - On the Search menu, choose Enter Words.

- Drag a WORD item into a Construct tab.
- Left panel with an alphabetical list: Displays an alphabetical list of every word that appears in the current search text.
- Use the scroller The control you drag in the scroll bar and arrows to scroll through the list.
- Click a word to add it to the Words to enter box.
- Double-click a word to add the word to the Search Entry box and close the Select Words dialog box.
- For multiple words, double-click the last selected word to add all selected words to the Search Entry box and close the Select Words dialog box.
- Text Pop-up Menu: Used to change the list to the words from another text of this language. Changing the word list does not change the current search text setting in the tab.
- Go To box: Used for entering characters to scroll the list to the closest word.
- If you use the Go to box to locate the words in the list, the box is cleared after each word is chosen, ready for your next entry.
- Example: Type cre in the box to jump to create in the list.
- Words to enter box: Displays all words selected from the list. You can edit the words directly in this box.
- Use exact word: When selected, places an equal sign before each word in the Search Entry box to constrain the search to the exact form selected (including capital letters and punctuation). This box appears only for texts, not tools.
- OK: Enters the selected words in the Search Entry box (at the insertion point), or inserts the construct item.
If multiple words are selected, they are added to the Search Entry box in parentheses and separated by commas as alternate search criteria. A multiple-word selection might look like this: (power, powerful, powers). This argument is equivalent to entering (power <OR> powerful <OR> powers).
