Window Menu

A check next to a tab or palette name indicates it is open.

Window Menu Item Description Notes
Library Opens/closes the Library, used to add, find, open, and rearrange items in various menus  
Instant Details Opens/closes the Instant Details which displays details about the word or map under the cursor  
Highlights Opens/closes the Highlight palette, used to highlight text with defined highlight styles  
Characters Opens/closes the Character palette, used to display and enter special characters from Accordance fonts  
Daily Reading Opens a sub-menu for choosing a Daily Reading to open in its own Workspace  
Show All Brings all Accordance workspaces and palettes into the display and shows any hidden items The workspace or tab reappears in front of other workspace or tabs if re-selected from the menu, or if an amplifyClosed To select words or a reference and search for the selection in the text or tool of your choice. You can select the resource in the Library or Amplify menus. A triple-click is a shortcut which amplifies to the top tool of the relevant category. function reuses it
Hide Hides the activeClosed The application, window, tab, or other screen element which is currently being used; sometimes called the "front" or "frontmost" screen element tab while preserving the current contents and setup  
Tabs & Zones

Opens a submenu with the following options:

Select Next Tab: Activates the tab to the right

Select Previous Tab: Activates the tab to the left

Detach Tab: Converts the active tab to a new workspace

Recycle Contents: Makes the zone recyclable so that it will be reused whenever appropriate; a recycle icon (Recycle icon: When blue, the tab is recyclable) appears above the search icon or in the top right corner of the active zone

Set Active Tab Name: Change the name of the active tab

Tab Ties: Opens a sub-menu for Tie options:

  • Remove all Ties: Removes the scrolling connection between this tab and all other tabs
  • Tie To: Appears only when appropriate, and connects the scrolling of the tab with that of the tab shown in the menu item

Select Next Zone: Activates the zone to the right

Select Previous Zone: Activates the zone to the left

Detach Zone: Converts the active zone to a new workspace

Magnify Front Zone: Magnifies the active zone to the size of the current workspace; click again to return the zone to its original position

Arrange

Opens a submenu for arranging all visible windows and workspaces, as follows:

Tile Windows: Positions as many open workspaces as possible so that they fill the screen and can be viewed side by side

Stack Windows: Positions all open workspaces so the title bar of each one is visible, with the active tab on top

 
Set Workspace Name Changes the name of the active tab  
Get Verses... Opens the Get Verses Dialog Box, for inserting verses into another program on your computer (without having to use the copy feature) For more details see the topic Insert Verses to Another Application
Slide Show Converts the display to one suitable for projection and teaching Only the tab panes and controls for navigating the panes are visible
Reading Mode Converts the active zone to a full screen display suitable for reading  
Window Help Opens the Accordance Help page relevant to the active item  
Show Analytics

Show Analytics: Opens, or activates, the Details zone, with different ways of displaying the search results

Show Search: Activates the Search tabClosed The core tab used to search Bible texts, it consists of a search entry area and a search results area for the Details zone

 
Add To Favorites Opens a submenu with options for adding the front workspace to the list of Favorites  
Hide Toolbar/ Show Toolbar Hides or shows the Workspace toolbar  
Customize Toolbar Opens the Customize Toolbar dialog box, for customizing buttons on the Workspace toolbar

Displays the names of all open workspaces and windows. A check next to the name of an item indicates it is active

Selecting a window or workspace brings it to the front and activates it

Hidden tabs are marked with a hollow diamond
