Select and Mark Verses

You can select verses and then highlight them, apply bookmarks, or add a User Note. Bookmarks are saved in your Library. A symbol to the right of the verse appears indicating if it was bookmarked or if a User Note has been added.

This topic provides a very brief overview for selecting and marking verses in one of these ways.

Bookmarks are saved in the Library.

  • Bookmarks can be added to selected verses by selecting the desired text and doing one of the following:
  • Press Shift+ Alt+; in this case the verse does not need to be selected.
  • Press Ctrl+7.
  • Click Selection>Mark Selection.

Blue bookmarks appear in the right margin of the selected text pane, and Mark buttons appear in the Navigation bar. Use the Mark button to navigate between bookmarks.

  • Remove a bookmark by doing one of the following:
  • Press Shift+ Alt+.
  • Press Ctrl+7 .
  • Click Selection>Remove All Marks to remove all bookmarks.

Marks for User NotesMarks for User Notes

  • Adding a User Note to a verse marks the verse with a single-page icon (User Note icon indicating that User Notes are availabel for that verse) in the same margin.
  • The icon changes to twp pages (User Note icon in right margin, for more than one user note (in different User Notes files)) if there is more that one note on the verse.
  • Double-click the single- or two-page icon to open the User Notes for that verse.

All Highlights are saved in a special file which you can modify. You can also create different highlight styles. The following procedure assumes that you are new to Highlights and working with the pre-installed Highlight file.

  1. Select a word or verse.
  2. Right-click and choose Highlight>Important or Highlight>Symbols and select the desired symbol. The Highlight color or symbol is added to your text.
