Modules, including User content (User Notes, User Tools, Papers, and Highlight files), can be synchronized (termed "syncClosed From the word synchronization; the process by which data is moved from a computer to a mobile device such as an iPad or iPhone") to the iOS Accordance application installed on your mobile device. You can choose to sync all or only selected modulesClosed Any Bible text, or other single tool that can be read in Accordance, including reference texts and articles; may also be referred to as content or resource to your mobile device.

Note

For additional help and troubleshooting tips, refer to the Accordance Mobile Help online.

Note: If You Also Sync to Dropbox

If you have linked Accordance for Mac to Dropbox, User content (Notes, Tools, Highlight files, Papers and Stacks) cannot be synced via Wi-Fi.

When syncingClosed From the word synchronization; the process by which data is moved from a computer to a mobile device such as an iPad or iPhone via Wi-Fi, User content is not displayed in the "Sync with Mobile Device: Selecting Modules" dialog box if you are linked to Dropbox. This was done to prevent unnecessary updates and potential bogus conflicts.

Syncing of modules is one-way only, from your computer to your mobile device, with the exception of User Notes and Highlight files.

    • Sync User Content: Preserves all content on your mobile device and syncs only with User content (User Notes, User Tools, and Highlight files).

  1. Select the modules to be synced to your mobile device.

Note

Items with a checkmark are synced to the mobile device. Unchecking a checked item will remove that item from the mobile device.

  1. Click Sync Now. The selected modules are synced to your mobile device.
  2. This process may take a few minutes depending on how many modules were selected.
  3. If changes were made to a Highlight file on the Mac and your mobile device, the files are merged and synced on both devices.
  4. If a User Note was changed on your computer and on the mobile device, the Sync with Mobile Device dialog box is updated and additional options are offered. Proceed as follows:

    • Choose the User Note that you want to keep. You can review the differences between the notes for the same verse in the Sync with Mobile Device dialog box, as shown above.
    • Click Continue.

      Hint

You cannot merge or edit a User Note if the change was made to the same verse on the computer and the mobile device.

However, you can copy the note that will not be kept from the Sync with Mobile Device dialog box (+C) and paste it into another application. You can then recreate that particular note manually in Accordance.

    • You are asked to repeat steps a and b, for each note that has been modified in both places.
  5. Close Accordance on the mobile device and then restart it. You can now view the merged User Notes files, Highlight files, and all synced content on the mobile device.
