Search Ranges
Search ranges are helpful for limiting your search. Familiarize yourself with the task and principles behind limiting a search, to take full advantage of Accordance's search capabilities.
Create Search Ranges
You can create Search Ranges on your iOS device. To create a Search Range:
- Open a Text and tap the Search (()) button.
- Tap Options. The Search Options pop-up appears.
- Tap Set Range To to display the list of available ranges. The "Set Range To" pop-up appears.
- Tap Edit. The Plus button () is displayed at the top of the "Set Range To" pop-up.
- Tap the Plus button () to display the "Edit Search Range" pop-up. The "Edit Search Range" pop-up is displayed.
- Tap Range Nameto enter a name for the Search Range. For example, "Pastoral Epistles."
- Tap Range Definition to enter the Search Range. For example, "1Tim-Titus."
- Tap Save to save the changes.
Organize Search Ranges
You can arrange the order of Search Ranges on your iOS device. To order Search Ranges:
- Open a Text and tap the Search (()) button.
- Tap Options. The Search Options pop-up appears.
- Tap Set Range To to display the list of available ranges. The "Set Range To" pop-up appears.
- Tap Edit. The move icons () are displayed to the right of the Search Range definitions.
- Sliding the move icon (), place the Search Ranges in the desired order.
- To further organize Search Ranges, tap Add Divider. A divider is inserted below the list of Ranges.
- Tap Done to save the changes.
Delete Search Ranges
You can delete Search Ranges on your iOS device. To delete a Search Range:
- Open a Text and tap the Search (()) button.
- Tap Options. The Search Options pop-up appears.
- Tap Set Range To to display the list of available ranges. The "Set Range To" pop-up appears.
- Tap Edit. The delete icons () are displayed to the left of the Range definitions.
- Tap the delete icon () to the left of the Range to be deleted. The Delete button is displayed.
- Tap Delete. The Range is deleted.
- Tap Done to save the changes.
Restore Default Search Ranges
If the default Search Ranges have been deleted or altered, they can be restored. To restore the default Search Ranges:
- Open a Text and tap the Search (()) button.
- Tap Options. The Search Options pop-up appears.
- Tap Set Range To to display the list of available ranges. The "Set Range To" pop-up appears.
- Tap Edit. The Restore Defaults option is displayed at the bottom of the "Set Range To" pop-up.
- Tap Reset to restore the default Search Ranges. Note that any custom Search Ranges or dividers will be deleted.
- Tap Done to save the changes.
