Language Localization
Accordance Bible Software is localized for Korean, German, English, Spanish, French, Português (Brasil), and Chinese (Simplified). If the top language in the
- Names of books of the Bible, modules Any Bible text, or other single tool that can be read in Accordance, including reference texts and articles; may also be referred to as content or resource, fields within tools, and other modules, are set within the modules themselves and do not change with a different system language.
- The same applies to entry of verse references: Verses can only be entered in the language supported by that module Any Bible text, or other single tool that can be read in Accordance, including reference texts and articles; may also be referred to as content or resource. However, in German certain specialized and common abbreviations are accepted in any text, such as 1Mo for Genesis.
- Pop-up menu items in the Set Tag Details dialog boxes are translated. However, after clicking OK the details are entered in the Search Entry box or Construct tab in English.
- The Accordance interface language preferences can be set independently of the system language localization. Thus, you could have your system language displayed in German, and the Accordance interface displayed in French.
At this time documentation is available only in English.
Accents and special characters (such as a-dot, umlaut, o-slash) in the Roman alphabet languages are ignored for the purpose of alphabetizing the words, and non-exact searching. Thus, if you search for guter you will find Güter, Guter, and guter. Use an equal sign to specify the exact form in a text. Tools do not support the equal search for exact forms.
Note We understand that in many languages these special characters are not accents but different characters so that there is no connection between the words Güter and Guter in German, or møte and mote in Norwegian, and they should be listed and searched separately. However, Accordance is not currently able to handle these characters in any other way. |
Localization of Accordance Bible Software is set via the Mac System Preferences.

- Drag the desired language item to the top of the list. Changes are applied to your computer. The next time you open Accordance, the desired language is applied.
