Reading Mode

Reading mode is used for full screen display of the selected pane. This is particularly useful when you want to focus only on reading the content of a particular pane.

If desired, you can change the default Theme for Reading mode to the Readability theme. You can also override the font size for the Reading mode display, to further enhance readability.

To enter Reading mode, do one of the following:

  1. Click the Actions button (Action pop-up menu: Provides additional options ) in the Pane bar for the resourceClosed Any Bible text, or other single tool that can be read in Accordance, including reference texts and articles; may also be referred to as content or module you'd like to read in the full screen. The Action pop-up menu appears.

    You can also press Ctrl+R to enter Reading mode for the activeClosed The application, window, tab, or other screen element which is currently being used; sometimes called the "front" or "frontmost" screen element pane.

  2. From the Action pop-up menu, choose Enter Reading Mode. Full-screen display of the selected resource appears.
  3. When done, press Esc to exit Reading mode.

To customize the appearance of Reading mode:

  1. Open the Preferences dialog box and click on the Reading/Research area.
  2. In the Reading Mode area, choose any of the following items:
  3. Use Readability theme: When selected, the Readability theme is used for Reading mode, regardless the default theme when viewing the resource in a standard pane.
  4. Use default font size of: When selected, you can set the default font size for Reading mode, regardless your other default settings for the Tool or Text moduleClosed Any Bible text, or other single tool that can be read in Accordance, including reference texts and articles; may also be referred to as content or resource. Use the pop-up menu to change the font size.
  5. When done, click OK. The next time you enter reading mode, your changes are applied to the display.
