Files in Accordance Folders

Installed Application Related Files

On the Mac, there are two Library/Application Support folders. One is located on the top level of the hard disk, and one is located in the User folder.

New installations place these files in the following folder: User/Library/Application Support/Accordance
If you have an old installation, these files may be stored in the following folder at the top level of your hard disk: Library/Application Support/Accordance.
If the Mac App version is installed, these files stored in the following folder: user/Library/Application Support/AccordanceMAS

Note

For OS Operating System 10.7 and above, the User/Library is invisible. To access this folder, do one of the following:

To temporarily access view the Library, open the Go menu in the Finder, press Opt+ and select Library from the menu that appears.
To always view the User/Library, on the Finder Action pop-up menu choose Show View Options. A panel appears. Select Show Library.

If they are not already present, the folder and files may be created automatically when you run Accordance.	Once you begin working with Accordance, the installed modules Any Bible text, or other single tool that can be read in Accordance, including reference texts and articles; may also be referred to as content or resource, your preferences and certain other feature settings are stored in the Settings files. Be careful not to replace these Settings files with new copies. It is a good idea to make a backup of the entire Accordance Preferences folder from time to time.
	Modules	Accordance-compatible text and Tool modules are found in the following folders: /Library/Application Support/Accordance/Modules/Texts and /Library/Application Support/Accordance/Modules/Tools A variety of texts and reference works are available for use with Accordance. You can double-click a Text or Tool module Any Bible text, or other single tool that can be read in Accordance, including reference texts and articles; may also be referred to as content or resource to launch Accordance and open a tab displaying that Text or Tool. Files with names like Greek words or Hebrew roots are collected in a Gloss folder. These files supply additional information for the grammatically tagged texts. The Biblio files supply the information for citation from tools.

Atlas Data and Backgrounds

Atlas and Timeline files have unique icons for the data itself, and for the different colored backgrounds.

User Files

These files are saved to the location of your choice, by default, in the following folder: user/Documents/Accordance Files.

	Saved Tabs, Workspaces, and Sessions	Accordance Files contain any sessions, tabs, or workspaces that have been saved within Accordance. When you open a file in Accordance, the searches defined in any Search tabs in the file are automatically performed. Double-clicking a file launches Accordance and opens the workspaces from the file.
	User Notes	User Notes files are Accordance modules that you create. Each note in a file is attached to a specific verse. You can add to and edit these notes at any time.
	User Tools	User Tools files are Accordance modules that you create or import. You can add to and edit these tools as well as search them
	Highlight Files	Highlight files hold the location and definitions for all highlights you use.
	Tutorials	This folder will only be present if custom tutorials are installed.
