Select, Copy, and Save the Timeline

You can select a specific area on the Timeline, copy an area of the Timeline for use in another program, and save the Timeline.

To select a specific area, drag the cursor to define a box (marquee) around the area. You can now:

  • Double-click inside the marquee to zoom into the area.
  • Print the selected area (File>Print Selection or Ctrl+P ).
  • Copy the selection to the clipboard (Edit>Copy Picture Selection or press Ctrl+C ). You can now paste the picture into another program such as a word processor or drawing program.

    If there is no selection in the tab, choose Edit>Copy Picture (or Ctrl+C ) to copy the displayed Timeline area. You can then paste it into another program.

Click a name to select it. The selection is indicated by a box around the name. You can now:

Save the Timeline TabSave the Timeline Tab

Choose File>Save activeClosed The application, window, tab, or other screen element which is currently being used; sometimes called the "front" or "frontmost" screen element tab or Ctrl+S to save the Timeline tab. It can be reopened with the current setting and position.

To save the Timeline tab as an image that can be imported into other programs, choose File>Save as Picture.
