Amplify to Resources

An important part of Bible research and study is the ability to amplifyClosed To select words or a reference and search for the selection in the text or tool of your choice. You can select the resource in the Library or Amplify menus. The ability to amplify is like pulling a book off the shelf and flipping it open, only to discover that you just happened to open to the precise section you needed!

Using the Library you can quickly amplify to any available resource in Accordance.

Note

Selecting an item in the Library performs exactly the same function as selecting the corresponding item from the Amplify menu.

Because amplification is core to working with Accordance Bible Software, an entire section of this Help is dedicated to amplifying tasks. For now, the example below will help you get started.

ExampleExample

You are reading about the "firmament" in Genesis 1:7 and you want to look that word up in Easton's Bible Dictionary. If you were to select Easton from the English Tools section of the Library, a new tab would open displaying the first article in Easton's dictionary. You would then need to scroll to or search for the article on "firmament."

To amplify:

  1. In the activeClosed The application, window, tab, or other screen element which is currently being used; sometimes called the "front" or "frontmost" screen element tab, select the word "firmament" in Genesis 1:7.
  2. In the Library, pass the cursor over "Easton." Two buttons appear to the right of the module name, Information (Information button: Click to view more information about the selected module) and Amplify (Rest the cursor over the module name in the Library to display the Amplify button. Click to amplify to the module.).
  3. Click the Amplify button. A new tab opens (in a new zone) displaying the first occurrence of Firmament in Easton's Bible Dictionary.
