Using the Toolbar

The Primary Workspace Toolbar

The default appearance of the toolbar can be customized. Right-click on the toolbar to access the toolbar shortcut menuClosed Also known as a contextual menu, acessed by right-clicking (or pressing Ctrl+Click, Mac only) over a screen element.

Hide the ToolbarHide the Toolbar

To save screen space, the toolbar can be hidden. Do one of the following:

  • Choose Hide Toolbar from the shortcut menu.
  • Choose Hide Toolbar from the Window menu.
  • Press Opt++0 to hide/show the toolbar.
  • For Mac OSClosed Operating System X 10.6 systems and earlier, click the Hide Toolbar button ( , top right of the Workspace).

All the toolbar items initiate commands, or open pop-up menus for accessing commands. If a toolbar item has a small arrow pointing downward (), clicking that item opens a pop-up menu for accessing a variety of commands.

Customize the ToolbarCustomize the Toolbar

  1. Right-click on the toolbar and choose Customize Toolbar from the shortcut menu. The Customize Toolbar dialog box appears.
  2. Drag any of the items in the dialog box to the toolbar. You can also drag the default set of buttons onto the toolbar.
  3. Click Done when done.

  1. Library items can be added to the toolbar by doing one of the following:
  2. Right-click on the item (resourceClosed Any Bible text, or other single tool that can be read in Accordance, including reference texts and articles; may also be referred to as content or module or folder) and select Save to Toolbar from the shortcut menu.
  3. Drag-and-drop the item directly to the toolbar.
  4. Drag-and-drop any resource tab to the Toolbar to create a button for that specific resource on the Toolbar.
  5. To open a favorite moduleClosed Any Bible text, or other single tool that can be read in Accordance, including reference texts and articles; may also be referred to as content or resource on the toolbar in a new workspace, click the toolbar item then press Command.

AmplifyClosed To select words or a reference and search for the selection in the text or tool of your choice. You can select the resource in the Library or Amplify menus. A triple-click is a shortcut which amplifies to the top tool of the relevant category. Opens a pop-up menu with the same items listed in the Amplify menu
