The Search Entry Area

The Search Entry area is located at the top of each Search tabClosed The core tab used to search Bible texts, it consists of a search entry area and a search results area.

1 Text Pop-up Menu Select the primary text  
2 Search History Pop-Up Menu Review or select a previous search The search history is retained as long as the search tab is open; when the tab is closed, or when you quit Accordance, the search history is deleted
3 Search Type button Select the type of search; you can search for words or verse references A Word search finds the exact word or phrase entered; a Flex search finds various grammatical forms of words or phrases. In Texts containing Section Headings, a Headings search limits the search to the outline headings in the Text. In Hebrew Texts, a Letters search searches for an exact string of characters.
4 Search Entry box Enter the search argument Examples include single words, a search command, or a verse reference; the entry is dimmed if the search has been performed; press Enter to perform a search
5 & 8 More Search Options You can select the search Range, Scope, or items affecting bracketed words

Word searches only; click the More Options button (Click to display additional options in the Search Entry area) to show an item, or click the close button (Click to close)

6 Recycle button Make the tab recyclable  
7 Divider Bar Click-and-drag to increase/decrease the height of the Search Entry box
