  • Class pop-up menu: Available items depend on the type of text that was searched. This setting defines the default class for analyzing search results, similar to the pop-up menu on the Analysis Pie Chart.
  • For Key number texts, available options are Word or Key Number.
  • If the text is not tagged, only Word is available, and this graph is useful only for wild-card searches.
  • Grammatically tagged texts offer more items, including LEX, INFLECT, and TAG items, and the appropriate classes of parsing information. Examples of the Class pop-up menus that may appear are shown below.

  • Chart detail area: These items affect the chart content.
  • Show count on (Outside, Below, None): Choose the position of the numerical label relative to each name.
  • Count as percentage (% displayed): When selected, displays the percentage of hits rather than the total number of hits.

Note

If the number of items in the class is relatively small, they are all displayed on the pie chart and included in the percentage count. However, if there are many items in the class, such as inflected forms or total words, those words that make up about 1% or less of the total are not included in the chart or in the percentage calculation, although together they may form a significant percentage of the total hits.

  • Chart colors area: These items affect display of the Pie Chart.
  • Use black background: When selected, changes the Pie Chart background to black; this looks particularly good in presentations or a slide show.
  • Color pop-up menus: The Color pop-up menus let you customize the color for each of up to seven displayed slices.

To change the color of one of the slices, simply choose a new color from the corresponding pop-up menu.
