Preferences: Export

Prerequisites for use: None; this dialog box can be opened at any time.        

Use: Sets the Export preferences that affect text exported from Accordance for use elsewhere, whether by copy and paste, drag and drop, or by saving a text file.

Open: Click Export in the list of the Preferences dialog box. The Export area is displayed.

Unicode export to convert a file to another format for use in another application. area: This option relates to Unicode export of text.

Note If working with the App Store version, this option, by default is selected. If you change the export to non-Unicode (by removing the checkmark from the option), you will be sent to our website to download a special installer to install the required non-Unicode fonts.

• Export all characters with Unicode format: This item is always selected.
• Use default font: When selected, you can define the default Unicode font for exporting the text.
• Use default font color: When selected, you can choose the color applied to the default font of exported text.

Greek export Area: These options relate to export of Greek text.

• Export characters as Pop-up Menu: This item is not currently available.
• Strip accents and breathing marks: When selected, Accordance saves the text without the accents and breathing marks.

Hebrew export Area: These options relate to export of Hebrew text.

• Export characters as Pop-up Menu: This item is not currently available.
• Strip characters Pop-up Menu: Used to selectively remove accents and marks from exported Hebrew text (and transliteration). Available items are:
• None: Leaves the text as it appears in Accordance.
• Cantillation only: Strips the te'amim or accents only.
• Vowels & Cantillation: Removes vowels and dagesh, but leaves the sin/shin dot, and maqqef.
• All Marks: Leaves only the consonants.

• All Marks, Add Spaces: Leaves only the consonants and adds a space in place of the morphological separators between the words and prefixes and suffixes.

  Note Upon copying, the entire verse reference is copied, even if only a single word was selected. For example, if in Gen 1:1, I select "בּרא" and type Ctrl+C, the entire verse and reference are copied, as follows: "Gen. 1:1 בּראשׁית בּרא אלהים את השּׁמים ואת האָרץ"

• Reverse direction of Hebrew characters: This item is not currently available.
• Use SBL damaged-letter diacritic: When selected, display of the standard Unicode character for a damaged letter is replaced by the characters used by SBL.

Other Area: These options relate to the insertion of verses into another application.

• Drag and Drop uses citation formatting: When selected, dragging selected content from a Text or a Tool is pasted in a document using the Text citation or Tool bibliography settings.
• Enable Get Verses: When selected, the shortcut keys for the Get Verses feature (Ctrl+Alt+A) are enabled.
• Use selected verse reference from word processor: When enabled, you can type a verse reference in another program, select it, press Ctrl+Alt+A, and automatically insert that reference into the document.
• Interlinear Width: Determines the width of the text block when using Copy as > Interlinear.
• External URL Style: Generate a link to an Accordance location or search. URL links allow you to automate complex searches or open tasks, and share that information with other people who work with Accordance Bible Software. There are two types of links that can be generated:
• https://accordancebible/: These are weblinks. They go to the Accordance website, which then redirects to the Accordance application. Because of the https prefix, they are much more supported in other applications than accord:// links. For example, our forums allow "https" links but not "accord" links. Also, since it links to the Accordance website, the https link has a nice failover in case the individual using the link doesn't own Accordance.
• accord://: These are direct links to Accordance. No internet is required, and it's faster and more direct than the https://accordancebible/ option, since it doesn't link to the Accordance website first. However, not all programs or websites support it. Generally, accord:// links are better if used only for personal use (such as pasting into a note on your own device), while https://accordancebible/ links are better for sending to anyone else.
