Amplify to User Notes

User Notes (This icon identifies the My Notes area of the Library) are files with notes attached to specific verses of a Text moduleClosed Any Bible text, or other single tool that can be read in Accordance, including reference texts and articles; may also be referred to as content or resource. Accordance Bible Software comes with a sample User Notes file. This example assumes you are using the sample User Notes. User Notes can be quickly found in the My Notes category of the Library.

Within a Text module, a single page icon () appears beside every verse to which a note is attached, such as Genesis 2:4, 15, and 18. A two-page icon appears (), if there is more than one note attached to the verse via different User Notes files.

You cannot amplifyClosed To select words or a reference and search for the selection in the text or tool of your choice. You can select the resource in the Library or Amplify menus. A triple-click is a shortcut which amplifies to the top tool of the relevant category. from a selection in a User Notes tab; however, Scripture references in a note can be linked.

There are three ways to amplify to a User Notes file.

Amplify with the Single Page User Notes IconAmplify with the Single Page User Notes Icon

This method is quick and easy. Simply click the single page User Notes icon (), which indicates a note attached to a given verse. A User Notes pane opens with the associated note displayed at the top of the pane.

To open the User Notes file in a new tab and zone, Ctrl+Click on the User Notes icon.

Amplify with the Two-Page User Notes IconAmplify with the Two-Page User Notes Icon

If more than one note has been attached to a verse via different User Notes files, the User Note icon has two pages (). Do one of the following:

  • Click the two-page User Notes icon. Each User Note for that verse opens in a new pane.
  • Ctrl+Click on the two-page User Notes icon. The User Notes files open new User Notes tabs in a new zone, with the selected verse at the top of each tab.
  • Right-click the two-page User Notes icon to view the User Notes files with relevant notes, and select the desired file. Only that User Note opens in a new pane.

Amplify with the LibraryAmplify with the Library

This method is especially useful when you want to view the notes for several verses at once.

  1. Select several verses in a text. For this example, select Genesis 2:15 through verse 19.
  2. In the My Notes area of the Library (This icon identifies the My Notes area of the Library) click AmplifyClosed To select words or a reference and search for the selection in the text or tool of your choice. You can select the resource in the Library or Amplify menus. A triple-click is a shortcut which amplifies to the top tool of the relevant category. (Rest the cursor over the module name in the Library to display the Amplify button. Click to amplify to the module.) next to the desired User Notes file. For this example, choose Sample Notes. A new User Notes tab opens with Show All Text activeClosed The application, window, tab, or other screen element which is currently being used; sometimes called the "front" or "frontmost" screen element; each relevant note is bookmarked.

    If no notes were added to all of the selected verses in the User Notes file, an Edit window opens so that you can add a note.
