Select and Copy From a Atlas

An area on the Atlas can be selected for a variety of reasons, including copying it for use in another application. You can also select and copy names on the Atlas.

To select a specific area on the Atlas, drag the cursor to define a box around the area. You can now:

  • Print the area (File>Print Selection).
  • Copy the selection to the clipboard (Edit>Copy Picture Selection). You can now paste the picture into another program such as a word processor or drawing program.

    If there is no selection in the Atlas tab, Edit>Copy Picture copies the entire Atlas area displayed in the Atlas tab; you can then paste it into another program.
  • Open a 3D projection of the area by selecting a magnification from the Open 3D pop-up menu (Click to open a 3D Map; the drop-down menu opens scale options for the 3D map).
