Instant Details
The Instant Details pop-up displays more information about the word, link, or place currently magnified (selected). To learn more about the Instant Details, read this topic in the Mac Help.
A tap on a link in a Tool opens the Instant Details pop-up. The Action menu is displayed either above or below the Instant Details pop-up. If no information is available for the word, only the Action menu is displayed. Information displayed in the Instant Details depends on the selection and whether the resource is a Text or a Tool.
- You can choose to Search for or Amplify the selected word. For Key number Texts, two options are available: Word and Key Number.
- Searching for the Word finds all instances in the Text.
- Amplifying for the Word finds its definition in the top Dictionary.
- Searching for the Key Number finds all instances of the Key Number in the Text.
- Amplifying to the Key Number finds that number in the top original language resource.
- When searching or amplifying tagged original texts you must first choose whether to search for the Inflected Form, Lexeme, or Root.
- You can scroll through the contents to view any hidden information.
- To close the Instant Details, tap anywhere outside the pop-up.
For Texts with Key Numbers (such as the ESVi and KJVS) the Instant Details display:
- the selected word
- the Key number (such as Strong's)
- the dictionary form of the word in the original language
- if a grammatically tagged text is installed, the inflected form, parsing, gloss and syntax described below also appear
- the number of times the selected word and key number are found in the text
- the entry for that Key number from a Greek or Hebrew lexicon (selected in the Amplification area of the Settings menu.
For Grammatically Tagged Texts such as the Hebrew Bible and Greek New Testament, the Instant Details display:
- the word as it appears in the Text (inflected form)
- the dictionary form (lexeme or lexical)
- the root where applicable (in parentheses)
- the part of speech and full parsing of the word, such as Noun masc plur gen
- an English gloss which is a basic definition
- the syntactical tag such as subject (if syntax files are installed)
- a divider that marks the division between the grammatical form and usage in the text on top, and statistics and lexical information on the bottom.
- the number of times the inflected and lexical forms of the selected word are found in the text
- the entry for that word in the top lexicon for that language (that has that word).
- the entry for that Key number from a Greek or Hebrew lexicon (selected in the Amplification area of the Settings menu.
The Instant Details display the entry for that word in the default English dictionary (that has that word), selected in the English Amplification settings.
Tap on a verse reference in a Tool to display:
- The Text of the Bible selected in the Hyptertext Text or Alternate Text Tool Display preferences.
- Amplify: Tap to display the selected verse or verses in a separate pane. Note: This action will update the contents of the second pane instead of opening a new view, if the panes are unlinked and the module in the second pane is the same resource being amplified to.
- Context: Tap to display the selected verse or verses in context in a separate pane. Note: This action will update the contents of the second pane instead of opening a new view, if the panes are unlinked and the module in the second pane is the same resource being amplified to.
- Copy: Tap to copy the verses to the system clipboard.
Note: A link from a tool to another module amplifies to that module.
