Tap and hold on a word to display the selection handles, then drag the right or left handle to the desired location.

Depending on your selection, the Action menu and/or the Instant Details also appear.

Tap the verse reference to select a single verse. The Action menu appears with a variety of options.

The verse reference is displayed at the top of the Action menu.

Select a single verse as detailed above, then click the left and/or right arrows next to the verse to select verses before and after your initial selection. The selection is updated and displayed at the top of the Action menu.
