More About Tabs

The Search tab The core tab used to search Bible texts, it consists of a search entry area and a search results area is the core of Accordance Bible Software. It displays the Bible text that you are using and has an area in which all searches are defined. However there are several other tabs in Accordance.

While these tabs have unique characteristics, they also share common features. The unique features of each tab type are described elsewhere in this Help.

The following features are common to most tabs in Accordance:

• Multiple Tabs: Several tabs can be open at the same time. A new tab is automatically added to the appropriate zone whenever you amplify To select words or a reference and search for the selection in the text or tool of your choice. Once a tab opens, you can click the Recycle icon to reuse the tab whenever appropriate.

Notes If the tab would open with a minimum width greater than the current workspace, it opens in a separate workspace or zone. Use the + key to open or amplify to a module Any Bible text, or other single tool that can be read in Accordance, including reference texts and articles; may also be referred to as content or resource, and have it open in a separate workspace.

• Search: A Search Entry box is displayed at the top of most tabs. This box is used to enter search arguments to find specific text in the tab.

Note Edit windows have a separate Search and Replace option, and do not have a Search Entry box.

• Decrease/Increase Font Size: You can decrease/increase font size of displayed text by clicking the Font Size icons () displayed at the top of the tab.
• Navigate Search Hits via the Navigation bar: In addition to being able to scroll through tab content, you can use the Navigation bar at the bottom of most tabs to quickly jump to specific text in the displayed search hits. Navigation buttons are used to navigate through verses, chapters, books, or articles, and bookmarks.

Note You can only navigate through verses displayed in the tab.

• Customize Text Display: Every module (and tab) can have its own default display settings which take effect the next time that module or tab is opened. Simply choose Display>Set XXX Display (where XXX is the name of the module or tab).
• Save and Rename Tabs: All tabs can be saved. You can also give a unique name to each tab.
• Recycle Tabs: Tabs with an available Recycle icon () can be reused to display the same types of content, reducing screen clutter.
• Navigate Multiple Tabs: If more tabs are open in a zone than can be easily viewed, navigation arrows appear to the right and left of the tabs. Click the arrows to display the available tabs and select the one to display.
