Version 13: Installation, Updates, and Syncing

Installing and upgrading Version 13 of Accordance Bible Software is a straightforward process.

Note This Help only covers installation of, and upgrades to, Accordance Bible Software, Version 13 using the Easy Install and Check for Updates options, and syncing From the word synchronization; the process by which data is moved from a computer to a mobile device such as an iPad or iPhone of content.

Before installing, it is helpful to understand that Accordance Bible Software has two main components: The core Accordance application and add-on modules Any Bible text, or other single tool that can be read in Accordance, including reference texts and articles; may also be referred to as content or resource (Bible texts, tools, other books, and data files); also referred to as content. Because you are offered maximum flexibility in the modules purchased with Accordance Bible Software, most installations are similar but rarely identical. To assure a smooth installation or update experience, all Accordance owners must create an online account with OakTree Software and connect it with their installation. All installations and updates are performed via downloads based on your account information. If you have not already created an online account, you can create an account now via our website.

• Initial Installation: Accordance is installed via downloads from your online account or from the Mac App Store.

• Easy Install: Installation of your purchases (content modules and packages) is handled via downloaded files from our website. Accordance Bible Software Version 13 links to your online account.With this release of Version 13 there are no more installers or unlock codes.

  Accordance automatically opens Easy Install to download your first modules. Most additional new modules are also installed via Easy Install in the Accordance menu.

  You can also install additional modules on disk by opening the module Any Bible text, or other single tool that can be read in Accordance, including reference texts and articles; may also be referred to as content or resource within Accordance (File>Open). Accordance will attempt to validate ownership in your online account.

• Update Accordance: Updates are generally handled via downloads from our website. On the File menu, choose Check for App Updates or Check for Content Updates to download and install available updates for your version of Accordance and all installed modules, respectively. You can also have Accordance automatically check for and install updates.
• The first time Accordance is run after installation, a message box appears asking if you want to automatically check for App updates. If you select "No" you can still use the Check for App Updates option at any time.
• Launch Accordance: Once installed, simply click the Accordance icon (located in Applications) to begin working with Accordance Bible Software. You can also place an Accordance icon on the Dock. In this case, be sure to remove any older Accordance icons, if present.
• You may have Accordance User content on other devices. User content can be synchronized via your Dropbox account. In addition, if you have multiple iOS devices, you can sync between devices.
