Following is an overview of new features in Version 12 of Accordance Bible Software. For more information on working with one of these new features, click the linked text.

- Accordance is now a 64-bit application.
- New Stack Tab: A Stack is a repository for the collection of text and images.
- Items are added to a Stack with a new keyboard shortcut

- Multiple Stacks can be created and saved.
- Stacks are saved in the Accordance Files/Stacks folder, and can easily be shared.
- New Paper Tab: A Paper tab displays a structured word processor document for creating outlined content.
- Papers are created from the File menu or the Papers button on the toolbar.
- Papers are opened via the Library, the Papers button on the toolbar, or the File menu.
- Stack items can be drag-and-dropped onto a Paper.
- Stack items automatically create an End Note and Bibliography section.
- Scripture references are automatically linked.
- Paper outline items can be moved to adjust their hierarchy.
- Paper outline items can be displayed or hidden.
- New Research Analytics: Analytics are available in the Research Tab for Word searches in Text modulesAny Bible text, or other single tool that can be read in Accordance, including reference texts and articles; may also be referred to as content or resource.
- Default Analytics display the combined results of the search across all Texts, and can be sorted by Version, Word, or Key Number.
- A new Compare browser in the Analysis Tab allows two or more search results to be compared.
- Clicking on a Pie or Bar chart in the Analysis Tab will display the Texts that contributed to the result of the search.
- Clicking on one or more texts in the Compare browser will display the contributions of those Texts to the result in the Analysis Tab.
- Upgraded Search Analytics: Analytics are interactive, allowing for detailed study of search results.
- Pie and Bar charts support instant details and mouse hover effects.
- Pie and Bar chart segments display a new set of results when selected.
- Visual upgrades for Pie and Bar charts, and Hits and Analysis Graphs.
- Hits and Analysis Graphs support zooming and panning.
- Easy access to Analytics with a prominent centered menu in the toolbar.
- Triple-click a Word or Key Number in the Analysis tab to perform a smart analysis search.
- Upgraded Info Pane:
- Ability to re-organize Info Pane categories.
- New categories added: Study Bibles, Grammars, Manuscripts, Manuscript Images, and Word List.
- The Info Pane automatically opens in Search tabs. This feature can be disabled in the Search Tabs area of the Preferences dialog box.
- Right-click a topic to open the item in a Research tab.
- Re-use pane when opening commentaries.
- Support for the ETCBC Hebrew Syntax and morphology database
- The option to perform a Flex search in non-original language texts has been removed from the Search History pop-up menu, and has been added to the Search Type button.
- The option to perform a Literal search in a Hebrew Text has been removed from the Search History pop-up menu. It is now called a "Letters" search, and has been added to the Search Type button.
- Custom Keyboard Shortcuts: Create custom keyboard shortcuts for every Accordance menu item.
- Upgraded Timeline: New interface optimizations and visual enhancements.
- The Details window has been removed. Details are displayed by selecting an item in the Timeline.
- Interface elements have been repositioned as overlays and can be displayed or hidden.
- Upgraded Library:
- New categories added: Syntax & Diagram, My Stacks, and My Papers (see above for details).
- Library search expanded to include new search criteria:
- Search the Library by genre or key word.
- Search the Library for books contained within Texts or Tools.
Additional EnhancementsAdditional Enhancements
- Create temporary or permanent custom research groups directly from the Research Tab.
- Verse references in the Concordance tab are opened in a new tab when clicked, and are displayed in the Instant Details.
- When performing a [TOPIC] search in the Research Tab, Texts are searched for the verses, but Tools are searched for the topic itself, allowing for a single comprehensive search.
- The Tab menu is now called the New Tab menu and has been reorganized with additional categories for enhanced clarity.
- The Atlas has received interface optimizations.
- Interface elements have been repositioned as overlays and can be displayed or hidden.
- 3D Map and Search buttons are now located on the right side of the 2D Map Tab.
- Flex searching in Texts is now grouped together with the Word and Verse search options.
- Flex/Exact search and Scope are now button choices on the right side of a Tool search entry box.
- accord:// links can be automatically appended to the end of text or tool citations
- Support for copying/pasting of Unicode content.
- New Bibliography style: Simple Footnote and Simple Bibliography available in the Bibliography Preferences menu. Includes name of the moduleAny Bible text, or other single tool that can be read in Accordance, including reference texts and articles; may also be referred to as content or resource.

- Text Browser:
- The new Text Browser tab displays multiple translations of the same verse from a verse reference selection in a Text or Tool tab.
- The Text Browser can be linked to another Text tab (Search, Reference List, or Context) to show the top verse in all available translations, or in a predefined group of translations.
- A new Web & Text Browser preference pane has been added.
- The contents of the Text Browser tab can be printed and saved as a text file.
- Papers & Stacks:
- Papers and Stacks can be synced between Windows, Macintosh, and iOS devices.
- The Library supports the creation of sub-folders within the Paper and Stack subgroups.
- In the Set Paper Display Dialog Box, an option for [None] has been added to hide the item marker for that particular hierarchical level.
- A Word Count menu item has been added as the first item in the Pane Task Action Menu.
- New and existing Paper tabs can be set to open at a specified Zoom level.
- Links can be added to Papers from multiple sources (Resource, Web, File, Scripture).
- When copying text from an Accordance Text or Tool, the bibliographic information is included when pasted into a Paper tab.
- Items can now be added to a Stack from the Web Browser tab and from the Research tab.
- Search:
- AnySyntax has been added as a new search item in the Construct tab.
- Research:
- The Research tab has a new selector button for viewing Text results in a Text Browser or workspace.
- Hebrew Literal search is now an option in the Research tab.
- Reading/Research preferences have been updated to set new Research tabs to either Flex/Exact or Literal/Grammatical searches.
- The title in the Research tab now shows the number of hits in the number of verses.
- Web Browser:
- Zoom buttons have been added to the web browser.
- Scripture references detected on web pages will be displayed in Instant Details and highlighted in red to distinguish them from normal links.
- Clicking a Scripture reference in the Web Browser opens the verse in a Text tab.
- The default homeReferring to the "home folder" page can be set in the Web & Text Browser preferences.
- The default texts for scripture references displayed in the web browser can be selected in the Web & Text Browser preferences.
- Citations:
- Added a preference to split discontiguous verses when using Copy as Citation.
- Added an radio button in the Citation preferences specifying whether the entire citation should be enclosed in markers, or just the text title alone.
- User Bibles:
- Import of any UTF16 file is now supported.
- Language groups such as Chinese, Russian, and "enhanced" Latin Unicode remain as Unicode Bible texts.
- Localization:
- If the localization is changed, any default item (such as highlight style name and route layer) not changed by the user will be updated.
- Additional Enhancements:
- User Note icons have been updated.
- New Safe Mode options have been added.
- An Accordance Exchange link has been added to the Help menu.

Dropbox syncing has been updated to take advantage of the latest Dropbox framework.
Note
Dropbox syncing requires Mac OSOperating System 10.10 Yosemite. For users running macOS 10.7, 10.8 or 10.9, the Dropbox Sync toolbar button will be hidden, as well as the Syncing Settings in the Preferences dialog box. The menu bar option Accordance > Sync with Dropbox will be dimmed and non-functional.

- A new preference has been added in the AmplifyTo select words or a reference and search for the selection in the text or tool of your choice. You can select the resource in the Library or Amplify menus. A triple-click is a shortcut which amplifies to the top tool of the relevant category. area of the Preferences dialog box, allowing each item selected in the Info pane to be opened in a new pane. This option is overridden with the Shift key.

- The option to add a non-hierarchical Text item has been added to the Paper Action Menu.
- A Paper item is duplicated by pressing Opt+ and dragging the item.
- The arrow keys can be used to change the hierarchy of a selected Paper item and to move between items.
- Press Shift + Return to create a sub-item below the selected item.
