Find and Open Modules in the Library

In some cases, locating a moduleClosed Any Bible text, or other single tool that can be read in Accordance, including reference texts and articles; may also be referred to as content or resource in the Library can be time consuming, due to the large number of modulesClosed Any Bible text, or other single tool that can be read in Accordance, including reference texts and articles; may also be referred to as content or resource installed. The Find box is used to quickly locate modules in the Library.

  1. In the Find box, click the Find pop-up menu () and select the desired search category.
  2. The default setting is Any Category. You can also search for:
  3. Module Name:Closed The abbreviated name of an Accordance content module (usually an abbreviated name); for example, ESVS The name of the Accordance module itself.
  4. Module Title:Closed The name of the Accordance content module as it appears on the Accordance website; for example, ESV with Strong's The shortened name of the module displayed in the Library.
  5. Library Name:Closed The name of an Accordance content module as it appears in the Library (usually the full name of the module); for example, The Holy Bible, English Standard Version with Key Numbers The full name of the module displayed in the Library.
  6. Author: The name of the Author of a Tool.
  7. Publisher: The name of the Publisher of a Tool.
  8. Tags: Genre and key words associated with the module.
  9. Book:Texts: The title of a book contained within a Text. For example, if you type Bel, any module containing Bel and the Dragon is displayed.
  10. Book:Tools: The title of a book contained within a Tool. For example, if you type 1Maccabees, any module containing a volume on 1Maccabees is displayed.
  11. The selected search category is displayed in the Find box.
  12. You can also use the Filter () at the top of the Library to view general groupings of resources.
  13. Begin typing the name, title, author, publisher, genre, or a specific book contained within the module you are looking for. All matching modules are listed. For example, if you type A, any module with a word starting with "A" is displayed.
  14. Continue typing to further narrow the list of modules found.
  15. As you type characters in the Find box, the beginning of any words in a module are found, rather than just at the beginning of a title.
  16. If characters are separated by spaces in the Find box, the beginning of each consecutive word is found. For example, enter "NA No" to find the tool "NAS95S Notes."
  17. If no modules match the characters entered in the Find box, the Library pane is empty.
  18. Keep typing until the module you are looking for is displayed in the Library pane.
  19. The name of the category is displayed above the list of found modules (except when searching for Module NameClosed The abbreviated name of an Accordance content module (usually an abbreviated name); for example, ESVS).
  20. If Any Category is selected, the category names appear at the top of the list of items found in each category.
  21. The relevant category details are displayed immediately after the name of the module (except when searching for Module name). For example, the author's name appears if searching by Author.
  22. Do one of the following to open a module:
  23. Double-click a single module name. The module is opened in a new zone or tab (based on your default settings), which then becomes the activeClosed The application, window, tab, or other screen element which is currently being used; sometimes called the "front" or "frontmost" screen element zone/tab.
  24. Select more than one module and press Enter to open all selected modules in a new zone or tab.
  25. Use Shift+Click to select more than one adjacent module.
  26. Use Ctrl+Click to select non-adjacent modules.
  27. Drag the cursor over several adjacent modules to select them.
  28. To return to standard display of the Library pane, click (far right of the Find box).

Note

When searching the Library, the difference between plain (') and smart (’) quotes is ignored.
